USTI has consulted many students, educators, and board members to come up with the best solution to host Clinical’s during this unfortunate covid-19 pandemic situation.
The class has expanded from 4 days to 5 days and will be broken down into two parts allowing students who have been eager to attend USTI Clinicals course to move forward and still maintain USTI as the gold standard in Trichology education.
3-day Live Virtual Clinical training October 18th 19th & 20th.
During these three days we will review many case studies in detailed discussions. Each student will present their clinical case study to review with our Educators. Students will also get the opportunity to live scope a model at the comfort of their own virtual location using their own PC. This will allow feedback from our educators and will give each student the best hands-on experience being done virtually. Each student interested in participating in the live scoping will be required to have a hair scope. If a student does not have a hair scope and is interested in purchasing one, they can follow up with their admissions rep for purchasing and more information.
USTI will host additional student training on special techniques in using the scope prior to the class. This will allow students to discuss any questions they may have with the Educators, fix any possible technical issues, and make sure each student is completely comfortable while using the scope on their chosen model. During training, the Educators will also show in detail how the scoping process will work for each student while virtual.
New York-Presbyterian, Columbia Medical Center is scheduled to make a special appearance to present a live training with our students.
As normal, we will do a complete detailed review of all material reviewed in the class. Our goal is to prepare students for their final Trichology exam and make sure each student is confident in all information they have learned. We highly recommend students to book their AMCA exam more than 14 days in advance, so they can take their exam the same day the class ends or soon afterward.
Upon completion of the 3-day Live Virtual Trichology and passing the exam, students will be issued an Interim-Trichologist Certification. This will allow each student to move forward as an Interim-Trichologist until the point in time when we are able to host the 2-day practical in-persona clinical training.
In-person 2-Day Clinical Training
As soon the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted for group gatherings, a 2-day in-person location will be provided to host our 2-day practical in-clinic training. There will be no additional cost for this training as it is included as part of the Certified Trichologist program. Students will receive five days of clinical training versus our standard four at the same price to become a Certified Trichologist.
For your safety, all students will be prescreened each day prior to attending the class with a thermometer temperature check and a written form signed confirming there has been no exposure to covid-19 or any covid-19 symptoms within the last 24-48 hours.
These two days will be a combination of live scoping on clients and models that come attend and live scoping on other students. Each student will be presenting their own personal case study for review with our Educators and fellow students. During this unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic time, we cannot guarantee the number of outside live subjects we can have. We will however be offering $229 worth of free products and a free consult to attract as many people as possible. There will be a strict prescreen for each person before entering the class and a live screen outside the class to check for any covid-19 symptoms.
Students will not be required to pass a test, but they will be required to show basic proficiency in their ability to scope clients and identify basic types of hair loss. Should anyone have any problems with the scoping, each educator will break out the class into groups and spend extra time with each student to assure they gain proficiency prior to the end of class.
Upon completion of the 2-day clinical training, all participates must show the basic proficiency will be provided with a full certification as a full USTI and AMCA Trichologist both paper and digital.
